Take a Ride on the New RABA

RABA's 2009 advertising campaign, "take a ride on the new RABA" has been launched! The year long campaign designed to increase ridership and revenue, and involves a number of improvements to make bus riding more convenient. The advertising message was created to make a direct appeal to ride. RABA's research among area residents showed many people were interested in riding, but just needed a little help and encouragement.

A new logo and bus exterior design were recently created to update the image and increase appeal to both residents and visitors. Other improvements include a new Ride Guide and web page to make riding the bus easy and effortless; national and local businesses sponsoring free ride days specifically targeting youth, students, seniors and commuters; and RABA participating in local events to educate current and new riders on the improvements and to build ongoing relationships in our communities.

RABA is also making other changes to improve the customer experience. A new easy-to-board low floor bus is coming soon (with more on the way) which will make is physically easier and faster for everyone to get on and off the bus. The Route 4 bus, which travels from downtown to the Canby Road Transit Center, has been rescheduled so riders changing to another bus route will have a shorter wait. The recently dedicated new maintenance facility on 3333 South Market Street will make it less costly and easier to provide preventive maintenance.
